Video Game Competition's (MLG)

gamesyndrome.com
Hello again MatsterChief again. I was just wanting to briefly talk about something I find extremely cool and interesting, Video game competitions. Most people think of video games as just things play as hobbies in there dark basement but all around the world there are people who take them just as seriously as football and baseball.

There are several Video competitions held across the globe each year. There are some teams that are viewed as superstars in their home countries. These competitions can get very heated and intense even just watching them can sometimes leave you on the edge of your seat.

These matches can last anywhere from just a couple minutes to a couple hours depending on the game and the cirumstances. Many of these events are even televised just like NFL and MLB. Also there is typically a lot at stake in these competitions. The prize money ranges anywhere from $10,000 to around $2 million dollars. So next time you make fun of that nerdy kid playing games just think one day he could go pro and make more money in one day that you would make in your life. Probably would not happen but you never know.

Until again my friends MatsterChief signing off.

Retro Game of the day! Contra

www.thealmightyguru.com
Hello again MatsterChief once again today I am going to do something a little different and that is a retro game flashback! Many of you might not have grown up playing the old school Nintendo and I am not refereeing to the Nintendo 64 but like the very first Nintendo console.

For me when growing up the game I played the most had to have been Contra. This is a classic game that rivals even the classic Mario which I might review in a later blog. Until then, Contra was a sidescrolling shooter that had either you by yourself or you and a friend running along a pre-determined route and basically blast about everything in sight.

I can't even remember what the point of the game was I think it had something to do about killing like aliens or something I just remember spending hours sitting with my brother just dominating everything in sight. Dying would suck because it would send you back to a crappy check point but in the end the game was too much fun to really worry about that. If any of you guys haven't played this game I highly recommend playing just pick up a cheap old Nintendo and a copy of Contra and spend an hour or so playing and you'll see what I mean by blowing up everything!

It's been a pleasure, MatsterChief signing off.

Skyrim Review

www.stealthybox.com
Guten Taug my fellow readers MatsterChief again. Time for another review, cue thunderous applause. Today im gonna review a game that happens to be one of my all time favorites. That game is called Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.

The game takes place in medieval times where elves, men and even orcs live together in the mythical land of Tamriel. The plot of the game revolves around the land of Skyrim is in a brutal civil war with the Empire which controls most of Tamriel. To put on top of that dragons have come back to the land of Skyrim. The story focuses on your character who is fully customizable, to save the day. It turns out that your character is something called Dragon Born and your the only one who can actually kill the dragons and bring peace to Skyrim.

After completing the first part of the game and your given your first mission that goes with the mains story, you have free roam to do pretty much whatever you want. The land of Skyrim is full of beautiful scenery that can be explored and evil creatures that can be vanquished. There are also tons of miscellaneous missions you can complete and faction missions to complete and many things that you can just do on your own. Example of this is say your in town and you don't have enough money to buy this awesome new sword, well that's not problem as long as your sneak skill is high enough and you strike at the right moment you can steal the sword and be out of town before the shopkeeper even knows what happened. This is just a small example the world of Skyrim is yours for the taking so hurry up and stake your claim.

Until next time MatsterChief signing off.

Video Game Addiction

www.choosehelp.com
Buenos Dias again fellow peoples, this is MatsterChief here to give you another amazing blog post. On this post I thought I might briefly explain and talk about Video Game Addiction. Believe it or not people can become addicted to video games just like alcohol, drugs or tobacco. This is not so prevalent in the United states due to the fact of their being several other means of entertainment and just our culture in general helps steer us away from extreme video game addiction.

dailytechwhip.com
However one country where video game addiction is very high is South Korea. In Korea one of the number one forms of entertainment for young people is video games. There are even little café like buildings that have rows and rows of computers that young people congregate to and spend hours and hours playing games. Video games competitions are also a huge thing in Korea and are even televised like the NFL is here in the USA.

With so many people gaming in South Korea the government has even set up better and better internet connections to help with the video game habit. One huge thing that is getting worse and worse in South Korea though is that many people have actually died during video game binges due to lack of food, water and sleep. To help combat this the government has put in steps to try and reduce the amount of hours that gamers play and even limit their ability to play by restricted access to certain individuals based upon their playing time.

Even with this huge deal about game addiction I have a simple method to combat it. Self Control, yes I know its not easy sometimes but just every once and awhile put the controller down go eat, hang out with your friends or even read a good book. Find other hobbies that you can fill your time with. Just remember you only have one life in the real world.

Thanks again for viewing my blog ill continue to make more posts about the riveting world of games. Until next time this is MatsterChief signing off.

Portal 2 Review

Gracias me padres. How are you all doing? Good hopefully, well this is MatsterChief here for another wait for it, wait for it, game review! Exciting right, I know reviews are not the most fun thing to read about but I believe them to be very helpful for the average and even avid gamer to make smart video game purchases. No one wants to spend $60 or even $20 for that matter on a game that they absolutely despise.

www.geforce.com
So in this amazing post ill be reviewing a game that's been out for quite awhile called Portal 2. This is the sequel to the award winning Portal that was featured in the orange box game collection. This game is at its heart a puzzle game. Usually I steer clear of puzzle games because I find them to be boring and the concepts are dated. An example of this would be like oh move these boxes around until they make a certain pattern then you will unlock a door to take you to the next level. That is kind of what you do in portal except you use portals to traverse test chambers to make it to the next level. Honestly its pretty mind blowing.

You start the game off very simply by just using your portals to traverse from one side of a room to the other and you learn some of the basic mechanics of the game. Of course like in most if not all puzzle games the levels become more and more difficult. In one level you have to some how direct a lazer beam from one end of a room and have it hit a sensor that will open a door for you to continue. When you look at it you think "Hey I can do this looks simple enough." Yeah after around 15 minutes of sitting and trying to figure out the puzzle and almost just almost losing my sanity I finally solved the puzzle through the simple process of trial and error. After completing these extremely difficult puzzles you will most likely feel like you are a freakin Einstein and can take on any problems your faced with. This is not always the case but the puzzles are rather challenging and will give even certified smart people a run for their money.

The game helps keep players involved in playing by giving them an amzing story enthralling them with witty dark humor which had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. Mix that in with the fun and challenging puzzles id give Portal 2 a 9.5 out of 10 but don't just take my word for it visit the video game experts at gameinformer.com to see their review and rating.

Well that's all for this riveting post until next time my faithful subjects,
